ART - POLI is an Academy offering free art on-site classes in popular travel destinations for students, and artists. Programs run during college breaks and includes a full educational platform with residencies, travel excursions and critiques by professional educators. 

​

ART - POLI® makes educational travel affordable for artists, the general public, graduated students, and seniors. We keep our costs low and reasonable, without sacrificing quality, adventure or learning opportunities. All of our programs offer scholarships, premier classes, workshops, faculty, housing, and individual innovative program choices for studying abroad. Classes can be used for professional development. Certificate, credit are non-credit options are available with our participating sponsors. Our partnerships with colleges, universities, museums, galleries, art organizations, studios, artists, professionals, entrepreneurs, airlines, travel companies and housing, gives us the advantage for offering the best educational experience.

ART - POLI does not collect a fee for its organizational services and provides options for housing and airline. Accommodations and airfare are paid directly to those organizations, not ART - POLI. ​

ABOUT ART - POLI

 

ART - POLI offers information to support, nurture and expose the emerging, mid-career or advanced visual artist to a creative cross-cultural experience in the Fine Arts and Humanities. We provide short-term residencies, studio classes, critiques, workspace, exhibitions and an array of professional educational developmental services, as well as international exposure, networking and engaging in global understanding. Locations include Europe, USA, South America, Asia, Africa, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.


ART - POLI JAPAN

 

ART- POLI Japan invites artists of all levels to spend two weeks in Japan, painting, drawing, photographing, printmaking and learning woodblock on location. Study the art of Ukiyo-e. Learn about Japanese painting, prints, woodblocks and artists' Hishikawa Moronobu, Torii Kiyonaga and Utamaro. Other Japanese ancient and modern arts will be examined to explore the relationship of modern tattoos, irezumi and horimono symbolism.

 

ART - POLI accompanies the famous Cherry Blossom Festival, a visit to Mt.Fuji and excursions to museums including, Kyoto Tokugawa Art, Nagoya City, and Castle. Trip also includes culinary classes with a Japanese Tea Ceremony, and Fashion exploring the Lolita, Gyaru, Bosozoku, Visual Kei their influence on modern androgyny, music, and their cultural birth from the stylized traditional Kimono.

 

Other classes include Collotype Photography, The Art of Paper Making, and the History of Kabuki and its art (paintings and prints) and role in modern dance, acting, fashion, sexuality, avant-garde  theater, plus a ticket to a traditional Kabuki and Bunraku show.

 

The ART - POLI  program will include art history and a local understanding of the region by tours and engaging in activities of the area.

These include sketching in museums, near temples, the marketplace, countryside and city.

 

Classes are available in painting, drawing, printmaking, papermaking, woodblock, sculpture, architecture, graphic design, textiles, ceramics, art history, art therapy, photography, creative writing, literature, poetry, language, philosophy, fashion, music, film, theater, dance, mask and doll making, Hanamusubi, culinary and the production of rice wine, sake.

of communication in the arts. Instructors in the program are professors in the Arts and Humanities with specializations in Painting, Drawing, Art History, Printmaking, Hand Block Printing, Sculpture, Textiles, Ceramics, Photography, Glassblowing, Architecture, Industrial Design, Restoration, Exhibiting and Marketing Art, Art Therapy, Literature, Creative Writing, Language, Philosophy, Music, Fashion, Film, Theater, Dance, Jewelry, Herbology, Religion, Yoga and Meditation, Culinary and Oenology studies. Courses also offered in Leather and Wood Crafting, Mask Making, Tattoo Design, Mehndi, and Perfume Design. The combination of these subjects bring a broader understanding of art and an expansive network of ideas and reason.
